Somehow I have managed to turn on the Digital TV subtitles on my Sony RDR HXD710.
I have searched all the menu/set up settings etc but can find anything to turn this feature on/off.
I've even sat for hour poking buttons hoping for a lucky hit.
Does anyone have any idea how to turn this feature off please??

Try turning it off at the mains, this should re-set the box to the factory settings.

Thanks for the idea, but unfortunately i have tried this already too.
It just re-boots with the subtitles turned permanently on.

Have you tried pressing the subtitles button on the remote? (Sorry if I'm stating the obvious)

You have to slide down the bottom section of the remote to reveal a number of lesser-used buttons. One of them is marked "..." for subtitles. Press it once to show the current setting and repeatedly to toggle through the different languages or "OFF".

Radox, many thanks i've been tryig for weeks to figure out how to turn these subtitles off and have searched the Instruction Book numerous times, but the only one mention is in the section on "Playback" so i had disregarded it.
The label on the button is clearly obvious (not!!).
Thanks again i can now watch the whole TV picture.
