Which Phone?

I currently have an O2 X3 (yes I know, the salesman conned me), and I've had this phone for nearly 2 years and I am looking at changing my phone. I am torn between a couple of phones: the Sony Ericsson W550i or the Sony Ericsson K750i. Now I love my technology so I want a phone with all the best gadgets such as FM radio, Mp3 player, good camera function, but I'm not too sure which SE to get. Has anyone got either of these phones that could help me out on this? Or is there another phone out there that people could recommend? I'm looking at spending £250 tops.

Cheers.

hiya, uve mad a good choice either way!

ive got a w550i, and my other half has a k750i...

the main differences are that the w550i has a funkier look, changeable back and front fascias, has a 256mb internal memory with the walkman function, which in my opinion is the best mp3 player on the market right now. It has tonnes of functions, and does all the usual, vid and camera pics (which are very good and can zoom in too) and the headset is very easy to use too, and of course doubles up as the stereo headphones..it also has a jack output so u can plug in your own headphones too!

from playing around with the k750i, i guess its the simpler choice...if u want good looks and no frills, it does the job, comes in some cool colours (we have the black edition) and my gfriend upgraded it via software from the internet to have the w800i walkman mp3 settings and look...so its basically the w800i but cheaper!

the k750i`s biggest advantages are that unlike the w550i which has only 256mb memory and cant expant, the k750i has a mem card slot, and she has a 1gb card in there, so she has never to worry about overloading the phone, plus its lighter and defo something u won't get too bored of. the fm radio is cool too!(w550 has one too)

other than that, we`ve both got basic bluetooth headsets which work easily with the phone, connectivity wise, infra red and bluetooth transfers are near perfect (great if u want someone'e song or pic from thier phone!!)

and the pc to phone software is easy to install , a case of plugging phone into pc via usb cable and then following instructions

my personal opinion is the w550 shades it...but its a case of personal opinion - the w550 is rarer..ive not seen many peeps with them, and i like that! the k750 is more common, but u will get more bargains price wise on this one!!

have a feel of them in the shop too, end of the day if u dont like one u can always return it within 7 or so days

hope that helps!

If you fancy the K750i(2MP) then check out the K800i 3.2MP with image stabilizer camera. But not much of a Walkman phone. One of the testers reccomended it to me and its now on pre order from O2.

I've changed my mind lol, I'm interested in a W800i or W810i now aswell.

W550i
K750i
W800
W810i

so many choices, I'm a bit of a technogeek and love plenty of extras with my fone, I'm interested in the MusicDJ and VideoDj functions that the W800i and W810i has, but I don't want a phone thats going to break-down all the time, the phone will have to last me a couple of years so reliability is also a factor, any ideas please?

Sony Ericsson are VERY reliable, and with free firmware updates for the lifetime of your phone you can't go wrong. From those above I'd go with the w810i, the others are getting a bit older now and the w810i looks nicer than any of the others

To be honest, I was like you, wanting all the latest stuff, but after a few weeks the novetly wore off, and I've gone from a K750i to a basic phone again!

If you like phones with lots of extras then go for one of the Symbian Nokia phones, 6630, 6680, N70, N80. They are really just like pocket PC's you can add loads of software and spend hours playing around with then.

What was the point in you saying that? You need to get out more if your just going to make stupid remarks on a forum.

Also, go for a Symbian phone if you want slow start up, slow messaging and phone book browsing, and complicated folder organising.
