i currently have a panasonic e55 dvd recorder and tucth100 pvr.
i'm thinking about buying a Panasonic DMREX75 with freeview and hardrive.
will i be able to record on the dvd and the hard drive at the same time ? i know i'll only be only to record 1 digital channel.
would you keep the tucth100 pvr or get a single tuner pvr ?

thanks

I have the Panasonic VCR/HDD/DVD Recorder and I can record on to Video and DVD/HDD at the same time but not the DVD and HDD at the same time. I imagine the model you're looking at is the same so the answer would be no you can only record on one of them at a time.

I've got an ex75, and no I can't record onto dvd and hdd at the same. I was a bit surprised: thought I might be able to record from the analogue tuner to dvd and the digital tuner to hdd (or vice versa) at the same time...but I'm not that bothered.

Why would you want to record to both at the same time. Would it not be best to record to the HDD and then transfer to DVD

It's a mistake to think of these devices as having an analogue and a digital tuner. Think of it as only having one tuner, but which can decode the signal on the channel it's tuned to whether it is analogue or digital.

That's different from having two independent tuners (like a TUCTH100), that can tune to two channels simultaneously.
