Having a chat with a mate about Stevie and his best tracks!

I couldn't decide between:

Lately, If You Really Love Me and For Once In My Life.

So I thought I'd see what you lot thought (if you like him that is). What is your fave track of his?

Superstition or Living for the city.

Love his 70s albums but his 80s stuff got a little too sappy and over-polished but even then he does have a few genuine pop gems that you can't deny are just great songs.

"Living For The City" and "Higher Ground".

By the way, the song that goes "you can feel it all over" is called "Sir Duke".

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers cover of Higher Ground is one of the worst cover versions i've ever had the misfortune to hear.

Not quite as bad as The Jam's version of Curtis Mayfield's Move On Up but still dreadful.

Yeah, that's another good one you don't hear often.

It's got the Jackson Five on backing vocals too!

I like the fact it's an angry track. Also the last few verses of the full version of 'Living For The City' where he just starts growling.

At the risk of being unoriginal, I love Living for the City, also Part Time Lover, though I do remember hearing some stand- up 'alternative' comedian during the 80s singing it in a South African accent as 'Apartheid Lover' with lines like 'we are undercover fascists on the run'.
'Don't Drive Drunk' made me laugh. His lowest point, really cheesy 80s instrumentation and production detracted from any message he was trying to put across.

I think for me it's gotta be 'Part-time lover'.
