Has anyone actually attempted to fit a larger HDD in the box? Just wondering cos had a new 200GBB ATA133 IDE HDD arrive, was going to install in PC but thinking might have a look at putting it in the 100??

The best way you might be able to manage it is to get one of those drive copy/upgrade untilities that will image one complete drive and then put the image onto a new drive. Insert the new drive into the panny and see if it sets up OK.

You'll have a very interested audience if you try it - I don't think anyone here has............

So it's not just a swap of HDD then?

Don't think so. Someone, somewhere I think posted that there was software on the HDD.

Whether you'd cause problems by just swapping it that meant you couldn't swap back is another matter, of course.

The software is on the hard disk so if you were to put a new hard disk in you would need to think about how to get the software back on - if you could obtain it. Basically its a no goer. However, if you image the drive in the panny and put that image onto another drive there might be an avenue for you there.

If you really could do with the xtra hard drive space then just sell it and get a PVR with a bigger disk - or one you can fit a bigger disk into. People seem to get good proces for these types of machines on ebay. Humax PVRs are being sold on ebay for about £20 or even £10 cheaper than you can buy new.
