hi, just bought a Liteon LVW-5115GHC+ yesterday from Argos but problem with finalizing. 1st dvd copied and finalised ok but 2nd one one froze at 92% for 10 mins then jumped to 100%,played ok though.
recorded a 3rd dvd but froze at 92% then it said "finalised failed".tried it in other dvd player and it played ok.
4th one i tried just froze at 92% and stayed at that for 20 mins. could not even switch of machine at front button ended up switching off at mains to get dvd out. when i tried it on other dvd player it couldent read.(bad disc came up) is unit faulty?any suggestions please?

Try some different discs, these don't sound too compatible with the LiteOn.

Tried datawrite dvd-r blue. memorex dvd-r. same result. Friend has older model but he uses dvd-rw,says it freezes at times and has to switch off at wall, also when finalsing, his "errors" at 82%.
I think its going back to Argos and i will spend more££ and buy Panasonic.

I don't have a dvd recorder yet , but ideal world flog a lot of liteons, & also bundles of ricoh disks which are presumably compatable. Try their website to see if they have them in stock : 5 +Rs and 10 +RWs for around 16 quid plus p&p.
