Ipod Nano - Skipping Songs

My Ipod Nano when I select a song starts skipping ten to 15 songs at one time then plays a random one.

It only started yesterday and I have had it for about a month working perfectly.

Anyone know any reasons why this may be?

I have turned off Shuffle and it's still skipping all my other songs and playing the odd one out of 150 I have.

Thanks

Have you tried resetting it, just to see if it fixes the problems?

How do I do this? Press both Menu and Enter (the round button)? If so, yes and it's still the same.

One thing it could be is the Hard Drive has developed a fault. If this is the case however it really hasn't lasted at all as well as it should.
You haven't dropped it have you?

It doesn't have a hard drive - it's flash based.

Have you downloaded the latest iPod updater?

www.apple.com/uk/ipod/download

It has new firmware for the iPod nano that may fix your problem.

It was working perfectly just last night so I don't see how or why this has gone wrong.
