TV on my PDA (iPAQ h5550)
Hi Guys,
I would like to watch LIVE TV on my PDA and be able to watch channels such as BBC1, BBC 2, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and some Freeview Channels. Please can someone tell me how I go about doing this and what would be the best software to use on my PDA and tell me if I need a TV licence or an aerial? Help appreciated Craig |

From what I can remember if its powered under its own internal battery it don;t need a TV licence.
The only way I have heard you can watch tv is via a internet based stream. Although there is a CF type TV card for dell Axim X5 http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...&sku=730-11454 and there is this sdio from MS mobile http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives...tv_on_you.html |

By the looks of things, the SDIO unit will work with WM5 quite happily (I assume thats the OS that your PDA uses?). The CF adaptor from Dell supports 2003, but no mention of WM5.
For either units, you would need a TV licence, as both units are capable of recieving broadcast TV. The other options are internet streaming, as pointed out earlier, or using a host PC with a TV card and setting up VLC to stream the particular channel over your lan. You can then use TCPMP to play the stream over wifi. B |
