Three Sending Marketing MMS and SMS despite opt out
Three have started sending me their MMS and SMS adverts despite me opting out of all marketing communication through the MyThree. It has only been a few (e.g. a MMS yesterday promoting their 99p music downloads) but it is annoying because I am opted out, and used to receive nothing. Have other Three customers started receiving unwanted marketing communications?
Thanks. |

I'm on 3pay and I opted out a ear ago or so and I don't get nothing. Maybe you should contact customer service.

Surely this is illegal? Doesn't the european thing on electronic communications prohibit marketing by any means if a punter has opted out.
As you can tell, I'm a wizz at these legal quotes! |

This is definately true. I have got a contract with 3 and I have opted out of all advertising. I no longer get 3 advertisements through the post, but I still get MMS and SMS advertisements. They dont really bother me though, I just delete them straight away as soon as I see they are from 3.

confirm with them that you've opted out of ALL marketing activity - get confirmation in writing, also ask them to confirm the date this was requested.
Once you've got that and have received another marketing message, write to their CEO pointing out that they are in direct breach of The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Refer specifically to paragraph 22 (1), (2) and (3). Then I'd threaten them with the Information Commissioner, he being the one who is the one responsible for enforcing this act (ish) and also Ofcom - just for the hell of it. |
