Small Home Theatre System
OK here it is
I have a friend who is after a small-ish HTS for his lounge room. But good sounding. He has a budget of £200 max. He currently has a JVC DVC DVD/VCR combo which im sure doesn't have the individual audio outs on the back just the 2 scart leads & a coaxial out. So IM thinking with this DVD player he has, he would need something to amplify the sound to 5.1 & plug into that. Im asking cos my setup at home is a proper HTS Yamaha DSP-A1 7 speakers which to me is the best method but not in everyones budget & I don't know enough about the smaller home theatre systems. Anyone with similar system or experience with this type of product. Many thanks for any help. |

Some of these all in one type systems are quite reasonable for what they are, and often come with a DVD built in. I can offer any specifics as to models etc, as I'm like you and have separates, but I'd reckon that Sony, Yamaha, Denon and Panasonic would be good brands to look at. Before you splash the cash though, be sure exactly what comes out of the coaxial connection on the back of the DVD/VCR.

Check out Richer Sounds, they tend to have a few small systems at the right sort of price.
