Vodafone Upgrade

06-07-2006
i have had the vodafone contract for 4 years and i am now due to upgrade i am on 700xnet + 50text for £32 a month and got stop the clock. i wanted to go onto the 1000 min xnet and see if they would match t-mobile and o2 they wouldn't.

i threaten to cancel but they still didn't offer it, lol they said i was a valued customer i guess they say that to everyone.

Any idea what to do i am more concerened about the minutes and i was offered the n80 from cutomer service for £50 on my current priceplan.

But if i just upgraded the handset from store all the handset were free apart from the 8800 and one of those new web ones.

Why a diffrence in price?

Can someone help me.

Well i can only tell you of my own experience with them, and i was pretty pleased!

I was on an 18 month contract with them and have only been with them for that 18 months (Previously on T-Mobile)

I phoned up customer service because i was due for an upgrade and asked them what offers they could provide me otherwise i would go to another provider.

Before the upgrade i had 200 minutes and 200 texts for £25 a month. They said that they would give me 1000 texts a month and 400 minutes for just £25 a month with a 12 month contract and stop the clock included.
I was pretty chuffed with this because i text a lot so i took it! I got a free Samsung Z500 in the end as well because they said no to the phone at first because apparently its pretty expensive (Battery life is crap tho!) But i beat them down and eventually got it for free So it should work for you and the N80!

If you're having trouble with them just ask for your PAC code and say you want to go to another provider. Usually works.

Good Luck!

lol i asked for a pac code no response they guy on the other end was a bit rude, he also said to me that vodafone will be making a come back and they value customer and this was a call from there retention today. He said to me that on his system he see that i was offered a deal but never took it.

Vodafone got the best network overall been on all the network, second is o2 third is t-mobile fourth is 3g and fifth is orange.

This is my feedback as i travel up and down the country.

Any one working for vodafone can comment wheather they would give me the 1000xnet at matching price as t-mobile and o2.

if not possible which is a good contract t have at the moment wihtout cash back?

Try ringing again and speaking to a different person! Some people on the other end are really moody! I actually had a nice person who gave me a deal straight away.

I rang again, asked for a pak code and they said nothing they were happy to send the pak code out .They stated that they are unable to match the deal with t-mobile as the company will be loosing money.

i got my pak code today, rang them up and i read the bit in the letter which state we are sorry to see the you are leaving and if we can beat the deal or give ua better deal call this 0808 number did that and the guy said no.

So could some one tell me whats the bet deal for 1000 minutes and a descent nokia handeset?

What's the problem with the T-Mobile or O2 plans you were trying to get Vodafone to match?

Nothing looking for an n80 on either t-mobile or o2 on the 1000 min plan for £35 per month , they aint doing the phone at the moment on the price plan. Willing to pay an extra £60 for the phone .

Probably why vodafone won't match it then, if it doesn't exist elsewhere.

Might be best to contact Vodafone and ask if they will allow you to remain a customer if it's that phone you want.

If it's the bundle you want, you might have to opt for another model phone.

vodafone wouldn't offer the bundle to me, o2 i have heard will be changing its price plan on the 13th as ive been informed by o2 staff. So will see what deal they got then.

So it looks like vodafone will be loosing alot of customer due to t-mobile flext 35.

O2 currently offer 1000mins and 100 texts per month for £75pm - you need the O2 max tariff available in store - The Link offer the phone for £49.99 on that tariff but you can get it for free if you shop around.

Details of O2 tariff changes are given in this thread:
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=408763
Looks like waiting may save you a fiver a month or about £25pm if you agree to an 18month contract.

Whilst the T-Mobile Flext 35 looks a good tarriff for you, they don't appear to currently offer the N80 so it depends how much you want that phone.

Surely 700xnet minutes plus 50 texts plus stop the clock plus a free N80 phone (upgrade in store) all for £32 a month was the best option. And I think Vodafone knew it

That's not actually a channel 4 site - use the URL without the C4 referral code (?skn=channel4) tagged to the end and you get the same thing without the C4 branding.

Quite a good comparison site all the same

Does anyone know any other good comparison sites?
Need some ammo as my contact is up in a week or so.

I'm on 500 Any mins with 50 sms and 50 video mins for £40 inc itemised billing.

I like the fact my text also count as data usage, which i do alot.
Its got to be Vodafone as no other network works in all the areas that I work in.
I only send about 15 texts a month, I've managed to rack up 1000 mins allowance a month now as I hardly used my phone to start with. On average I make around 300+ mins of calls. I browse online via my phone, use sky remote recording and EPG, put my sims card in my pda for browsing and use with tomtom traffic.

If o2 are going to release there new tariffs on the 13th of July do you reckon Vodafone will follow behind as they will be loosing a lot of competition due to t-mobile new Flext tariff.

I am looking for about 1000 xnet min + 50 sms + N80 for about £35 p/m

Does any other network offer something similar to Vodafone Passport?

Do you reckon I should wait a month or two to see if Vodafone pull there hands out of their pockets to offer competitive price plans?

Coverage wise I think Vodafone is good as I do travel up and down the country and second one I think is o2. If I was to get a contract it would be out of them two.

If any one who works with Vodafone could tell us if they will be doing anything to get back in the market or they going to continue showing loss to business like previous year?

I'm looking for a new 12 month contract with a free speedboat, new porsche and my mortgage paid off for about £35 p/m.

Why won't any network give me this?

LoL if you read the post earlier I did say I was willing to pay for the phone up to £60. O2 are offering 1000 xnet min plus 150 sms but not got the n80 on there.

LoL Mate if you get that offer your looking for could you share it with the rest of us, LOL and I didn't ask for a 12 month contract. Any how good luck with your search I think you got a long wait ahead of ya.

I found this article on a mobile site, so it looks like vodafone will follow with the tariff change.
