I agree with Madeley for a change. They have really supported Ricky, and everytime he has a new show or book out, they have him on the show to promote it.

I dont think he should of bit the hand that feeds him.

on yesterday's show, Dickie said to openly gay and proud John Barrowman, he who has just married his long term partner.....

"I bet you really fancied Billie Piper as Rose??? is it 'cos she is blonde" (a bit of his Ali G guise there )

pregnant pause from both Jude and John......

So Ricky Gervais would be nowhere without Richard Madeley's continued support

No, of course not. Im just saying that the R&J show has been very supportive to him .... and yet he used them as a cheap joke (which is kinda typical of Ricky).

Im not a massive fan of R&J or Gervais, but i can see why Richard was peeved.

I dont understand what you are trying to say Ricky Gervais is only doing well because if Richard and Judy?

I think Richard was swearing because people phoned up to vote for his book to win an award.

Apparently though, according to many people who were at Gervais' show when it happened, Madeley was laughing at Gervais' comment and when he made his retort.

It's a non-story, which has been blown out of proportion by the sounds of things.

I'm sure at the end of the show last night when the credits were rolling Richard said the Gervais was on the show tonight. He may have been joking as we know what hes like!

Brilliant.

I think he says these things on purpose but in my heart of hearts I don't want to believe it.

Unless he really is mad as a box of frogs

I couldn't believe it when Madeley interviewed Bill Clinton and compared the former president's affair and impeachment with his own arrest for shoplifting:

"I was in a similar position to you. I was accused of shoplifting. But unlike you, I knew I was innocent ..."

Back of the net!

R&J should run a premium phone line of all Richard's gaffes. I wouldn't mind paying 50p a minute to listen to 2 hours of his howlers. It would reduce me to human jelly.

It's Not Only Judy That Shakes…

If you aren't glued to 'Richard and Judy' every day (which is an activity that Dante pitched at around the fifth circle of Hell), you may have missed the interview with Ricky Gervais recently.

Whilst the interview was taking place, Gervais couldn't help but notice that a cameraman was making furious wanking gestures just behind Richard's head in a Tourette's-style silent commentary of the host's interrogation skills. Rather than let the joker off the hook, Gervais squealed like a fat boy to the headmaster.

"That cameraman's doing the coffee shaker behind your head!"

This came as no surprise to the unflappable Madeley, a man used to such diverse on air topics as albino dwarves and discussing his daughter's first menstruation live on Channel 4.

"I know," he said, somewhat sadly, "He's been doing it most of the week (sigh). He doesn't realize that I can see him doing it in the reflection from the other camera's autocue..."

After a few seconds awkward silence, Madeley, visibly downhearted, chuntered on, "I don't know why he's still working here, really."

For your information, this was broadcast on March 30, a full two days before April Fool's Day, so maybe said cameraman is still there, gesturing furiously and grinning like a wanking marmoset.

(holy moly)

^ this is so funny, I laughed so hard I nearly had coffee coming out of my nose !

The way Madeley sort of says 'yeah I know what he's up, but we can't find a cameraman in Europe who won't make the international Tommy Tanker symbol behind my back'

I didn't see it, hopefully youtube will deliver the goods !

Stargazy Spy

When not presenting 'Richard and Judy', 'The National Book Awards' and that horrible show where people remove their dignity and cravenly beg for money on air, Richard Madeley and his lovely wife Judy spend time at their holiday home in Polperro in Cornwall. Richard spends his free time growing his hair and getting back to nature, like one of those crazy hippies, refusing to shave and being a bit of an all round free spirit.

But Richard also treats his body like a temple (leaving the shoes on the outside - Hurley take note) and takes regularly jogs around the sleepy hamlet, keen to remain anonymous in his 'down time'. Odd then, that he wears the brightest possible fluorescent shirt and hat, topping it off with wraparound mirror shades, a bit like a clown version of Bono.

Richard's jogging style is somewhat unusual as well. Fearing the long lenses of the paparazzi might catch him looking sweaty, Richard tends to sprint for a few seconds before diving behind a telephone box, hedge or any other obstacle and peering out, checking to see if he's been spotted. He then resumes his run for another forty seconds before the next bout of hiding. A little like Alan Partridge preparing for his Bank Holiday Bond-athon...

My better half and I ALWAYS see the Partridge in that idiot. He epitomises cheap opinions and churlish, amateurish drivel! I remember being at home and watching the fool on daytime "waste-your-life" ITV about 10-15 years ago and a model comes on to the studio catwalk to show off some dress, and he leeringly asks her, "Are you wearing a bra with that?". What a loser!
