SPV C550 custom ringtones

I had to do a factory reset of my C550 yesterday Ive managed to get almost everything restored.

I had some personalised ringtones stored as wav. files. When I go to Settings, Sounds then theyre all there & I can change my default ringtone to one of my own. My problem is when Im trying to assign a ringtone to an entry in my contacts.

If I go to contacts then edit under a name and select custom ring tone it only gives me the options of the ones on the phone NOT the ones Iva added (if youre keeping up with this!!)

Am i trying to customise it in the wrong place or where should my files be kept so it works. It worked perfectly well before this reset

Mornin,

You need to move the ringtones to the phone from the SD card.......

Start
more
more
accessories
file manager

click on the storage card folder, then select the ringtones you want to assign by pressing Menu, Selection, select multiple.

Then when you've got that done, press Menu, file, Copy selection. Copy to location is Storage, Application Data, Sounds.

Hope this helps mate!?

EDIT: Of course, if they're on the phone somewhere, you need to find them and move them to the above folder, but given that you've reset the phone, it's unlikely!

Another EDIT: would it not be better to convert your WAV ringtones to MP3 ringtones to save space? I save small files as WAV (like sms tones) and larger ringtones as MP3s.

they seem to be for short files, but if you convert longer files to MP3 it does seem to make a difference - I guess it depends on the quality or bitrate or whatever the hell it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
