I have noticed that when I play discs that I have recorded on my sony 525, on my phillips 634 dvd player the picture freezes occasionly. Has anyone else noticed this? I so far have transferred everything from hdd to dvd using fast mode. Would it make a difference if I chose a slower mode?

I've found that fast mode doesn't always produce the most reliable results when trying to fill a whole DVD (4.5GB+), at least when copying on my Sony HD-910. Seems to affect some brands of blank DVD more than others, but a non-fast mode copy always seem to produce better results.

Just confirming what SteveMcK said. I have just searched for my post from a while ago saying exactly the same problem with my 510 and Philips player...blowed if I can find it though...
Anyhow if it's an important dubbing I always move off the "fast dubbing" to the SP setting, this has always cured the problem, but the downside a 2hour program that used to copy in minutes now takes....2hours.
