TypeTalk on TalkTalk?
Adam Law

Does anyone know if TalkTalk support TypeTalk?

I've tried looking on their site and there's no mention of support of it.

For those who don't know TypeTalk is a service for the deaf, that enables communication using a test phone.

If the text phone is just an analogue device then it should do.

I would have thought so too, however, in the instruction manual, it says "please ensure your provider allows access to the TypeTalk system".

Just a little cautious.

Not being too up on type talk I'm guessing here, but does it access a local\national\premium number of some sort?

Perhaps it just means that there should be no call barring on the line?

No, the user simply enters the prefix of 18001 before a telephone number, this then connects the user to type talk, and the user can communicate though there text phone.

the typetalk operator then writes what the person on the other side of the conversation is saying.
