ok... as it seems no one has bought one of these, I thought I'd be a guinea pig and get one.... so heres a quick review after a couple of hours watching....
(Please bear in mind that I'm no expert on AV, and certainly not as picky as some reviewers here..!!)

Generally good bright picture, freeview tuner picked up all channels fine, no sign of the "switches to standby" problem if you have a poor signal. (I live in a "borderline reception" area, with a high gain aerial in the loft.... 90% signal strength..!!)

Watched Gladiator on DVD, (via scart) and that looked great...

I was concerned that the Argos blurb didn't include any mention of DVI or HDMI sockets, even though its supposedly HD Ready.
Before I handed over the readies, I asked to look at the set, and once they'd brought the box down, it said "HD Ready via DVI socket" on the box, so that was fine.
There are input options for Scart 1 or 2, scart 1 or 2 RGB, PC, DVI. Theres also Audio out phono sockets, and composite video, s-video, audio in sockets and a headphone socket on the right side.

Included in the box was basic wall mounting brackets, mains lead, and a surprise... a component to PC socket cable...3 phone plugs at one end, 15pin D plug on the other....

I'm planning on ordering a Samsung HD850 DVD player in the next few days, at the moment I've got a cheapo Technika DVD, so I'll see if the progressive scanning, and the HDMI (using a HDMI-DVI converter) makes much difference.

On the downside, is the Argos blurb says "Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels." but according to the instruction book its a native resolution of 1280 X 720, although it does mention 1366x768... ??? maybe someone can explain..??

Generally, I have to say I'm very pleased with my purchase, and for the price, its a bargain...

Hope this helps someone...

£699.99 is a nice price

found this site which has a few reviews
http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/...-lcd3210af.asp

maybe the 1366x768 resolution kicks in when you
connect to your dvd, or you are watching freeview

That is normal and all TV's are the same. 720 and 768 is the same thing. 720 is really 768 but you only see 720 of them.

I am looking at one of these. I thought HD Ready had to have HDMI not DVI.

Anyone else have one.

if DVI is hdcp enabled, then thats HD ready i think. The DVI can carry a HD picture regardless

i was going to go for the 26" version of this tv, but the brightness/contrast didnt impress me at all when i was playing with it in the shop

It's now £549.99 at Argos, £50 less than the non-HD ready version! Also available new on eBay for £499 + postage or reconditioned models from £399.

I'm tempted - I've got the 17" (non-HD) version in the kitchen (bought on eBay) which I'm generally happy with, but I can't justify replacing the main TV yet and these sets are only going to get cheaper.

Picked up a flyer from Argos earlier in the week. Cat 536/1706 , described as "Wharfedale 32in Digital LCD TV", with Freeview tuner and HD ready. Reduced from £700 to £500. (Web page says reduced from £800!)

To confirm: there is a great big HD-ready logo on the printed advert, and this was only available for home delvery, so you couldn't check it until after it was set up in your living room. The product page shows no mention of HD capability or connections.

Shame, they had a 26" screen in the display which looked to have a great picture.

Does anyone have any experience of this brand, and if so, could you comment on the responsiveness of the set? Example: push the red button on a BBC DTT channel, how long before the page loads? Or when you press "go to channel 80", does the channel change quickly or is there a lag?

Thanks

On all the Wharfedale LCD TVs the responsiveness is generally poor and the picture can only be described as average but I still think they are good value for money.
