Hi,
I've just ordered a 32" LCD TV after debating it for a few hours.
It's this one http://ebuyer.com/UK/product/103675/rb/20329084025 at £569.99
It comes with it's own mounting, so I intend to mount it on the wall in my living room and do away with the TV stand etc. but the wall I want to mount it on is also the wall that contains the chimney to my wood burner stove.
We use the wood burner in the winter as it's a nice warmth and a great view / sound in the room.
So bearing in mind that it's used during the winter, do you think it would be ok to mount the LCD TV here?
I can make sure the mounting kit doesn't breach the chimney itself, so leaking smoke isn't my concern, but I am concerned about the heat. The walls get warmer than others obviously (although not too hot so they can't be touched) and heat also rises upwards so it will rise under the TV from the stove.
Will this be safe or will it knacker the TV??
I know the mounting kit will mean the TV's not stuck directly to the wall, but will have an inch or so I guess.
Any ideas or should I use another wall?
Thanks
