Panasonic DMR EX75 - which disks are best ?
lainie

Hi,

I am very excited as I have just ordered a DMR EX75 which I'm hoping will arrive in the next few days (optimistic or what?!)

I've never had a dvd recorder before and have no idea really which disks to use .....obviously I have looked on some forums but wanted some advice on this specific recorder

Would be grateful for some suggestions as to which blank media suits the EX75

Thanks
ps not TOO technical please !

I have used DVD -R and a DVD RAM disc in mine and both worked fine.

The machines automatically finalises DVD-R discs after you Dub across to them

the hard drive is so big you probably won't need to use discs at all for day-to-day recording. I have some dvd-r discs in case there is something I want to record on or copy across from the hard drive and keep.

Yes, I will use the hard drive for everyday use but I have loads of stuff on video that I want to transfer onto dvds

Any particular brand of disk to recommend ?

So far I have used Packard Bell, Logik and Imation on my EX75 and had no trouble with any of them.

Thanks -

This is a very useful forum indeed - free advice from people who aren't trying to sell you anything !

Au contraire! You'll find your credit card has been debited by £20 per question. Thanks for your custom, do call again.

I have been using Panasonic's own brand DVD -R bought from Curry's they don't seem to be priced much different from other brands.

Am I right in thinking that the DMR-EXx5 will only record DL if I use DVD-RAM disks?

No, you have to record to hard drive first then onto a dvd. That will be £20 please

I don't think they make DL DVD-RAM discs. Just double sided ones.

I think I read somewhere that it suppors both DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW DL, just checked the Panasonic website and it says play back and recording on ALL DISC types.

I find either Imation or Maxell discs work the best in my Panasonic.

Sorry, slightly wrong it's DVD-R and DVD+R DL discs shouldn't have just copied the panasonic site, it's badly worded....
