Hi

I got a great deal on a W550i that my son really wanted , but it came on the 02 200 pay monthly tariff.

200 inclusive minutes , 100 free texts , free w550i phone , free speakers etc , with rebates and recommend a friend it will be only cost £9.16 per month on a 12 month contract

I couldn't buy the phone for £110 never mind with inclusive minutes so no complaints about the cost

However as a teenager he needs texts not minutes.

I have looked at bolt ons from 02 and if all else fails I will add one of the following ( prob 200 ) :-

50 texts = £3.00
100 texts = £4.99
150 texts = £ 7.00
200 texts = £9.00
300 texts = £14.00

I can use the Sim in my phone for the monthly usage that's not a problem.

what I require is a sim card and a provider who offers lots of inclusive texts per month with some call time minutes at a good rate per month

Anyone recommend a provider for around £10 to £15 ?

You should have bought it from O2 Online. They do Text tariffs.

http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/t...Monthly&menu=y

You'd need to buy a new phone for that though.

But if you want a SIM only - http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/t...riff.do?menu=y

Online 100 looks good.

I don't think you'll find a contract SIM for £10 a month, but you can buy a Pay as you go SIM card. If you top up with £10 a month, you'll get 300 free texts per month. Top up with £15 a month and you'll get 500 free texts

Hi

I wasn't really wanting a contract or even an 02 sim , if there is an alternative I just want a provider that tilts towards text rather than inclusive minutes.

Thanks for the info on the PAYG I will go take a look

If you want that PAYG tarriff I (and probably a few dozen other FMs here too) can send you a SIM in the post for free, save you buying one - I have several unopened, lying about the house that I'm never going to need.

PAYG would be better for your son as he can then only spend what he actually has and not land you with a great big bill if he goes over the inclusive minutes.

The PAYG tarriffs offer 10% back on top-ups each month also bonuses for registering and first time e-topups etc.

Hi

I certainly don't want a nasty bill at the end of the month.

My son has a new girlfriend who he only sees at weekends and in the school holidays as she lives quite a few miles away.

So they spend a lot of time texting during the week ,so roll on the school holidays when he can see her 7 days a week as they will both be at the same holiday home site for 6 weeks .

Thanks for the offer of the sim , but I think my Bruv as some he gets them from 02 quite often

That's OK.

PAYG's certainly the best thing for you to do - no matter how much they say they won't overspend, it's always best to be on the safe side! (The number of times I told my mother a contract would be OK.. only to balls it up and end up owing Orange over £700. Eek.)

o2 are the best for texts on payg....atho one good thing to do is to look at tmobile as they have done offers on payg for new customers giving 1000 or 2000 texts on connection

i would say too check out orange, they were doing recently 300 texts a month for £10 or less i think
