Hello
I just thought I would ask people here where they get their discs from, and what they think of their sources R1: http://www.dvdboxoffice.com +s: free shipping from Canada, will ship single disks therefore no customs (most times), dealt promptly with lost discs (1 time, lost from package of 2 discs) and broken boxes. -s: no cancelling orders online, no indication of item in stock R2: mail-order from http://www.blackstar.co.uk +s: they keep you posted of all delays and discount you if they don't dispatch at time promised, free postage -s: not the most pleasing site, sometimes not obvious whether you're in VHS or DVD section |

For R1, I use http://www.play247.com or http://www.dv-depot.com
For R2, I usually use http://www.dvdstreet.infront.co.uk They are my favourites, but each to their own. I have never had any problems with them. Tony |

I use play247. You can't go wrong as the ship from Jersey so there are NO customs problems and the online ordering system is fantastic. I have ordered from both blackstar and dvdstreet but find i only do so for "bargain" purcases. For everything else, especially new titles and special edition sets, play247 are the best!! (and no, i don't work for them!!

on the occasion that i buy r2 discs, i generally use amazon.co.uk when they have the product at a decent price - they are without doubt the best uk online retailer i have dealt with
for r1 i have used express.com a couple of times (similarly to nikhil - only when i have found a bargain purchase, which is usually related to gift vouchers) i have used play247 a couple of times for r1 and they seem pretty reliable as well - prices are ok, seeing as they include postage but from what i have seen, for r1 i would go for dvdboxoffice - some prices are more than the equivalent us dollar price from amazon/express, but the weak canadian dollar makes it on the whole cheaper than either of those (and play247 as well) - especially when the free worldwide shipping is considered as said above - the lack of stock availability status is annoying, but if you want the best price for r1 and don't mind waiting then its worth it (otherwise probably play247) |

http://www.express.com provides an excellent DVD section with good prices and the 10 business day delivery is as cheap as dirt. Easy to use as well; I've ordered a box set and a few other things from them and its really simple. Regularly updated stock levels (down to the exact unit) and a great tracking service.
Credit card required, and if you really want it badly, for $20/£13 you can have if sent by FedEx, which got from LA to me in Northern Ireland in less than 3 days. |

When compared to Express.com (which I used religiously before I found Play247) it works out great as there's no custom charges. |

I used express.com for a while, but got annoyed with the customs charges that always happened. I then moved onto amazom.com which is ok, takes a couple of weeks to get the dvds, and only been caught on the customs charges once (that was my latest package
I'm going to try play247 as it has been recommended by a few people.HxBro |

I have ordered on disc from DVDBoxoffice, it's not arrived yet but they seem to say the right things, I just hope it turns up. If you buy from them it's cheaper to order in Canadian $.
Mostly I buy from Play247 or http://www.futureent.com, both are very good. But Play247 are getting a bit slack and not sending out as quick as they used to. |

DVDBoxoffice.com - happy customer
DVD Box office - some experiences...
At the moment, the time it normally takes from dispatch to my letterbox (Canada to Switzerland) is normally 7-8 days. Over the festive period, it's been closer to 10-11 days whicb you can understand. They do have a disclaimer which states the time at which they assume that the disk is lost or whatever. This has only once happened to me in about 1½ years and they sent a new disk once it seemed that it was gone to wherever lost post goes to. I also had a problem six weeks ago where a package came and had been re-sealed - one disk was gone and once I clarified this with them, they sent the title again. For those who have been hammered by customs, you can do no worse than try this place - they ship individual disks in small packages and they really don't get any customs attention. If you use http://www.dvdpricesearch.com and let it calculate single disks with delivery to your location, DVD Boxoffice is mostly there or thereabouts (and the calculations are US$). I switched from express.com to here for the reason of customs charges and having to go to the post office all the time since I am at work when the delivery is attempted. |

I use play247 and I've ordered about 20 films from them with no problems whatsoever.
