I've just seen on the internet a warning about another possible phone scam.

It's a Directory Enquiry service 118866, which is very similar to the access code for 18866. This company has recently been taken over by a firm called Ringtrue, who have put up the connection charge to £1.50 plus 30 per minute.

So be careful anyone still using 18866 (why aren't you using 18185) or that extra 1 could cost you £1.50.

Not just recently, they took over must be at least a year ago now.

Most people have switched to 1899 due to the lower connection charge, 3p instead of 5p with 18866.

It's been happening for over a year now but, as 18866's connection charge has since risen to 5p, most people have stoppped using it in favour of 1899 (3p) or 18185 (4p).
