Yes, SCD4 has finally been confirmed by the BBC.

14 couples this time around and all the judges are returning.

I'm guessing they haven't said what dancers have they

No, it's too early for that. But I believe Anton, Erin, Ian and Camilla are all safe bets.

14 couples is 2 too many I think. The standard won't necessarily be higher.

I hope they aren't panicking because of the perfection of series 3 and trying too hard.

Yes, I agree that 14 is too many. I love the show as much as everyone else, but they could have extended the run without adding extra couples.

If it ain't broke......

I wouldn't blame celebs for feeling pressured either. When they look at the standard reached last year, they must think how could I match that?

Just 2 too many? About 4 too many for me! Ahaha.

Exactly, if it ain't broke . . . don't ruin it!

14 is way too many. But the more pros the better!! Can't wait to find out who the celebs are. Everyone has to pray that Erin's partner lives in London so she can keep on teaching me!

The more the merrier as long as they increase the shows length to cope, you can't fit 14 couples into a 1 hr 30mins show. Would have to be at least two hours long for the first couple of shows. I hate 60 second dance routines. Plus everyones idea about no exictioin the first show is a great idea, they should have a spectacular opening show and then continue on from that.

Hi there. Yes I mentioned the 14 couples earlier. Ian told me about it. He agrees that it is too many, the couples who went on to the end were exhausted last time even the professionals. He thought it was a brilliant idea to have the first show without eliminations to give everyone time to get to know the dancers before deciding who should go off first.
There was also the comment that a good show is one which leaves people wanting more. If the BBC keeps adding more and more then they risk losing the publics interest.

The reason I was told was that the BBC wanted to go head to head with X Factor not start two weeks later like last time and then lose out on the ratings.
Dont know if I agree with the strategy it could be the wrong one, we shall see.

Are there even enough dances to fill up 14 weeks?!

Don't worry, it will all be fine. They can always add in solo breakdancing to fill up the space.

10 was a good number. S2 was the best one, the one I was most obsessed with! And it had Nicole!!!

yup I loved series two, the only problem with it was Anton going out so soon! I loved seeing him for so many shows in series three. I also loved Nicoel Cutler, she is still my fav female pro.
10 is the perfect number.

I think Nicole's back this year. If not I'll cry! But I stillo nly want 10 or 12 couples.

I just think the celebrities and the professionals will be very tired and the quality will suffer if it goes on longer than last series.

However if no elimination on the first show, that is much fairer as it gives people a better idea as to how good or bad the celebs are before giving one of them the chop.

Nicole, what a sweetie.

Anton better get a young lovely this year or I'll be gutted. He hasn't really had one yet.
Leslie - good but older
Esther Rantsen - rubbish and old
Patsy - rubbish and young

He needs a Zoe or Jill.

Ian has had two great partners (Denise & Zoe) , Brendan has had a great partner (Frosty wooden legs Natasha) and Darren had a great partner (Jill), it's Antons turn surely!!!!!

It wont run 14 weeks though. At the final there are 3 couples so it will run 12 weeks, last time 12 couples it ran 10 weeks.

They will have to be inventive to have enough dances do 12 weeks even.
guess they just might manage it the normal 5 ballroom and 5 latin plus the American Smooth and the Argentine Tango. That is if they use the Argentine as a comp dance not just a group dance. They could add the Salsa, most of the pros know how to do that. The pros would be against having to try to teach routines in dances they dont know, having to try to learn it themselves and teach it in a week is a bit much, they are not in it to make fools of themselves and the BBC would not be wise to annoy the pros if they want the show to keep on running.

Nicole is definitely back this year, along with Matthew.

They are the only reason I'm actually going to watch it this time amidst all this 14 couple rubbish!

I agree, 10 was the perfect number, but I preferred the format in the first series where there was no elimination in the first week, it was much fairer. I'd like them to have just 10 couples and give them the chance to dance twice before they begin eliminating them.

Seems an awful lot, but at least we'll enjoy them for a little longer won't we? I'm looking forward to the American Smooth most of all.

Ohhh the American Smooth can't wait. I taped it and then my sister taped over it GRRRRRR I hate all humans at the moment every tape I have with something amazing on it gets tape over.

Perhaps they'll introduce some American Rhythm this time if they're looking for new dances.

It's the same in our house Kaos; films I especially want to watch get taped over! Really gets annoying doesn't it?

One thing they could do, which they do on other DWTS's, is make them redo a dance with a different routine. That will fill up a space.

It will be survival of the fittest this year. Thats a lot of dances to learn, there will be more competition and the longest ever run.

I hope that having so many couples will not mean there will be more chance of good couples going early on.
Because there are more couples to choose from, voting will be closer.
