I'm more concerned that Invicta thinks she is so powerful that she would sack her own employers should they become pregnant !!!!!!! I would be the last person to describe myself as a feminist but believe in equality for all - whether that be Michelle and Syed taking joint responsibility and Sir Alan giving Michelle exactly the same treatment that he would give to a male employee. I am going to ignore Invicta's nonsensical ramblings now - but, as one of the posts here wanted to follow Michelle's pregnancy, it made me think that I wish they would do a follow up programme on all the "contestants". Mad Jo has all but disappeared and she was comedy GOLD! Hi Evilredzebra, I think I will ignore the ramblings as well. I agree, a follow up programme would be a great idea, as it is a shame for someone like Jo to disappear. I found her hilarious. |

I can just see Invicta being someone's boss and being able to fire someone for getting pregnant. Can anyone say tribunal? As a woman you ought to be ashamed of yourself for your attitude. If women didn't have leave to have children who will pay your pension in the future? What are you saying - women should either have a high powered career or stay home chained to the sink?

Have Michelle and Syed not heard of thinking before you have unprotected sex? Has Michelle not thought about the responsibilities of her new job? Has Michelle not thought that she beat other candidates to win the prize of a job with Sir Alan Sugar, and that if others had won instead they would probably not have squandered the chance? Have Michelle and Syed not considered that their actions have ruined the credibility of The Apprentice as a genuine search for someone with business ability? Have Michelle and Syed never heard of taking responsibility for themselves? |

none of this matters now as Michelle has suffered a miscarriage.

Interesting thread......I didn't watch The Apprentice but heard about Michelle and the badger. What I would say is in think that Invicta has a point.
Lets forget the fact that Michelle is a woman and got pregnant - lets say it was a man who got the role and said 'oops I've done something that means that I have to take 6 months off and I may be off intermittently for the next 3-6 months' I would be pretty upset as an employer and would think I don’t have the right person for the job after all. I think that the individual has to take some responsibility for their actions and rightly or wrongly Michelle's actions have undermined women out there. If she had suddenly been diagnosed with an illness people would have understood but her situation was completely preventable. Anyway - that just my opinion and for the record I'm a woman too. I am sorry to hear about her loss. |

I am sorry to hear about Syed/Michelle's lose, it's a tragedy, and well that is life. All i'll say despite the miscarriage i still stand firm in my belief about Michelle's irresponsibility. Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at syed, but you have to understand that Syed is the one who has not got the £100,000 new job, nor is he the one who is carrying the baby. In that sense i think men and womwn are different, and well the sad reality is that women should be extra cautious. I ain't trying to be prejudice because i am a woman myself, but men and woman are different whether anyone likes it or not.
