I know what you are saying but, I disagree that she had a good game plan. Above everything,you must get the voting public on your side not the HMs. Having the HMs like you only makes life easier but you could be up for nomination every week and still win or at least get a good reception when you come out if the public like you.

That could be. She seemed happy enough to be friends with Imogen later. However, would she have accepted Grace's leadership? If not, then keeping her out would probably work better than having to fight her within the group.


I don't think that invalidates thenetworkbabe's point, though, because Pete wasn't always part of the problem.

For example, on the night when Nikki was upset because Mikey and Glyn had taken her beer, Lea's attempts to deal with Nikki were rejected because she kept trying to tell Nikki what she should do and how she should be - at one point even physically grabbing her. But when Grace came over, Nikki looked up at her and said "Grace, listen"; and Grace did. She had advice, when Nikki wanted it, and helped Nikki see her way through things; but she first let Nikki say the things she'd been wanting to say.

If she'd been a good gameplayer, she wouldn't have played such a dire game with the public, a truely great gameplayer of this game should make themselves loved by the public, not one of the most loathed ever. She wasn't really playing a game, she was just being herself and therefore couldn't get her head round why the public hated her when she got out - hell she thought it was her late night snogs with Mikey.

So what if she'd avoided nomination to the final, she'd have still been the first out. Hows that a great game? Playing a great game is winning the thing.

A load of twaddle, if you don't mind me saying . If Grace had stayed all we would have got would be more and more constant bitching, which would have got more and more tedious. Her personality is that of a bitch and bully, creating enemies to attack, and if she'd succeeded in getting rid of the "olds," she'd have started on Nikki and co next. That's the "fun" we'd have got from Graceland.

As for the romance angle. What romance angle? I think we've seen from how much Imogen and Mikey are missing their ex-partners (or rather, not), that it was all aload of fake nonsense anyway.

Since we didn't have constant bitching while she was there, we wouldn't have had it if she'd stayed either.

Last year's HM were a lot closer to constant bitching, without getting so extreme a reaction from DS:BB.

You're seeing only one part of her personality; and you're wrong about Mikey too.

The irony of your appreciation thread SWW is that it's because of her game playing/manipulative nature and all round bitchiness that is the reason she is so hated and would never have won BB. Some of the very qualities you seem to admire about her are the same ones others dislike her for. I dispute your ascertain that she is a great 'game player', like I've said before, if your intention is to win BB, then playing the game Grace played is the wrong way to go about it. Did it work for Nasty Nick? No because ultimately it's the GP who decide who wins, and they generally don't like manipulators, particularly one that is as charmless as Grace.

By all means appreciate her 'game playing' as it makes for a far more interesting BB, and I personally would've liked it if Grace had stayed longer. But in reality the great 'game players' are the ones that manage to achieve the balance of keeping both their fellow HM's and the public on side, which considering the fickle nature of both these groups of people requires far more skill then anything Grace done.

I quite liked Grace - and I don't care who knows it. Also the people who are complaining about the "Aiselyne out" chants we heard last night are the ones who started it with Grace.

Aish said to Mikey last night after hearing her chants that she rates Grace for taking her boo's like she did and so do I.

This will make Aish stronger and I like that.

Overall I tend to agree... regarding 'getting the pubilc on side'... but question how that is possible AND compelling/entertaining? Joe UK Public seems to not tolerate any HM unless they 'suck up'... any HM that showed independence, vitality and/or 'reality' is disliked...

So many 'neutral' = 'playing to the public' HMs remain... and what a great House they make?

Sure it may grate some... but I feel to 'win' BB is immaterial in the UK imo... I am still heartened to see that in the 'core fan' Top 20 HM vote Hutton was beaten by at least three other HMs... and look what happened to him post-show.

Personally, generally I have always liked the HMs who don't feel the need to 'suck up' to Joe UK Public... to me these are the truly strong characters...

...because from what I can see some of Joe BB UK Public is a baying mob that focuses on dislike more than anything and then spends the Final Week trying to find reasons to vote for a winner amongst the remaining flotsam.

Great post SWW and i would subscribe to your view completely. There were times when i thought Grace was a bit elitist, but overall i liked her, and she was undisputably queen bee. She played a blinder of a game as far as the HM's were concerned and if Endemol hadn't twisted the rules against her then I believe she'd have made it to the final four.

On the contary... BB's mismanagement if their own most fundamental rule (see Dawn's 'eviction) resulted in Grace's eviction...

Imagine Nast yNick being 'evicted' and 'found out' because of outside interferenc... the Show would have been completely different.

It was a good gameplan in the House... and we will never knwo how the public would have reacted as her outrageous and blatant gameplaning week-by-week revealed how 'stupid' most of the other HMs are/were.

Yes I definitely think that if BB hadn't "meddled", then Grace might still have been in there, she was so totally in control.

I miss Grace. I agree with networkbabes analysis above, that the dynamic would have been so different if she had stayed. As an example, Aisleyne might have been on the fringe, rather than at the centre, and ironically would probably not be attracting the fire that she does now.
