DVR530H Guide Plus question

Hi all

I have (and am generally very happy with) a Pioneer DVR 530H but I wonder if there is a way to force it to download new channels that are added by Sky to its guide plus epg. For a while I did not have sky two or sky three but they appeared after I did a firmware update to make the player multiregion and what I was wondering was whether there is a way of refreshing the guide plus setup short of completely reinstalling the firmware.

Its basically up to Guideplus what channels are in the EPG. It's not dependent on what you do.

I think channels that are new to Guide+ appear automatically, there is no refresh procedure anyway. I often find there are newly enabled channels in my guide - I don't have many enabled channels so new ones, especially ones that are in a package I don't subscribe to, stick out like a sore thumb. I don' t know why Sky 2 and 3 seemed to appear for you only after a firmware upgrade - are you sure it wasn't just coincidence or that you hadn't noticed them before? New channels will simply be downloaded with all the others during a normal EPG refresh (3 times a day!).

BTW not all channels on Sky's EPG will be available in the Guide+ EPG. It's a separate system and Gemstar only have a subset of available channels. They can sometimes get it wrong too - people in Wales will find the Guide+ EPG lists the wrong programmes for BBC2!
