Sipgate will let you have any area code you like - you can change your number under the My Account link when you log-in. Only people registering with sipgate from outside the UK should be restricted to 0845 numbers.

Yes, Sipgate let you have any areacode in the UK, I have several areas.
Sipgate website however checks your IP address to ensure you are a UK resident, AOL being AOL send out a USA IP address, so the local codes aren't provided. You can use a UK proxy server and send a UK IP address, or PM me with your email address, a username you'd like to use and your area code you want and I can set it up for you, you would just then need to go in fill your details out and change the password. (Note you can only have one number per email address). |

Hi all, I have a range of 0845 nubmers from Pipemedia (legend communications). Does anyone know if I can take my numbers to another provider. Does ofcom have a policy on 0845 number portability?
