Yeah im on 1mb and surfing is fine, its only when im downloading torrents at the same time that my connecion sometimes struggles with it.
Have a look into if your router supports QoS as this will allow you to prioritize the call over the rest of the connection. |

This would really only matter on a dial-up connection. Surfing is not bandwidth intensive and compared to video calls, talking only is quite bandwidth unintensive too, it's just about the latency really.
On a broadband connection you would have no problems playing a game whilst someone else in the house used skype. |

I am using version 1.1.0.79 of Skype on Windows 98SE. It works fine so I am reluctant to upgrade to a later version.

Skype always seems quite laggy for me, compared to normal VoIP which I've tried on the same line and is perfect.
Does anyone else experience this, and is there a way to solve it? |

Does anyone else experience this, and is there a way to solve it? Skype is a P2P service, so your phone call could be going through several other peoples computers before it gets to its destination, therefore this can add quite some lag. |
