Can anyone suggest what I can do to improve playback on Celeron 500, 128mb ram, 8mb PCI S3 video card. Playback is so jerky that makes it impossible to watch. I have tried closing all other programs down, no use.

Any suggestions welcome.

Not a great video card to start with, but it should do the job. Problems with DVD playback on PCs can range from Motherboard problems (especially conflicts with graphic cards or decoder cards).

Also what OS are you using - Win 2000 and ME have only ever given me problems. When I was running a PC DVD system my spec was: Celeron 400 on a Chaintech 6BTM, 64MB SDRAM, 8MB Matrox G200, running Windows 98. I was using a Creative 5x DVD drive and ATi Cinimaster software. I had to use version 1.6, but had to install 1.4 first, then 1.6 to a different directory.

It was a bit of a pain in the end, before I moved up to a standalone player.
