TIA

I am not familiar with that brand, sorry
Personally I would take a look at Cowons iAudio players.
My next player will be an iAudio.
They have an excellent reputation and don't skimp on features

Nice player.

I got myself a PMP a few months back, at the time the iubi wasn't available or the choice would have been a tougher one.

Only alternatives I would give the time of day to would be:

Cowon A2 (which is what I bought).
Archos AV series.

I went for the A2 as it supported more formats, had slightly more of the type of funtionality I want (AV series make better recorders, A2 supports text file - I use it as an e-book - and a few other bits and pieces). Battery life far better on the A2 (the iubu looks about on par with the A2) and online support and firmware updates for the A2 are second to none.

Also, the screen on the AV's is awfully exposed (no protective cover over the LCD), I'd be very worried about damaging it carrying it about all the time.

If I was buying again at this point, it'd be between the A2 and the iubu. Although, I have to say, I reckon the iubu might just shave it now. Bluetooth, H264, USB2.0 Hosting (A2 is only 1.1 in host mode). No FM radio on the iubu (A2 does but I hardly use it) and dunno what support and updates will be like for it.

Other thing in favour of the A2 is DMB (digital mobile TV) is already supported in Korea for it (via a matchbox sized plugin). So, if DMB ever takes off over here, my PMP should hook up to it no problem. Not sure about DMB on the iubi.

A plus for the iubi is price. £249 is a pretty good deal.

I paid about £260 for my A2 (30gb version) shipped from the USA and got lucky and managed to avoid the import tax. Seldom see them for less than £300 in the UK.

Handy thread on an A2 forum I use ...

... with a bit of feedback from someone who bought an iubi instead of the A2. Same chipset apparently so they're pretty similar overall.

Oh .... and there is also the Viliv P2 ....

.... which looks like it'll be a nice player. But it's not actually available yet so can't really comment on that one.
