Hi Guys 'n' Gals
Trying out a GX-210 (temporarily "rented" from Argos
) but just encountered a problem.
I'm trying to archive the Science Department's video collection onto DVD ready for September. I've had several problems with my Panasonic DMR-ES10 in producing discs that any DVD player can read and am thus trying out the SONY.
Anyway . . .
I've just transferred 6 x 20 min videos to the Sony. The last recording took the time to 2hrs (i.e a full disc). The Sony then "lost" this final recording completely
Pressing the "Title List" button, it showed only 5 titles recorded and a blank space where the final recording should have been.
I then decided to finalize the disc - so that at least I'd got 1hr 40 min of video archived.
After apparently "successfully" finalizing the disc however the Sony then reported that there was over 2hrs of recording space on the disc
After ejecting the disc and putting it back in, the Sony then took ages to "Load" finally reporting that the disc was "unreadable" (or some such message).
I put this "finalized" disc into the Panny and it happily reads and plays the disc. WTF is going on?
Anyone else had this "problem" with a fully recorded disc on the GX-210?
Zaph
PS As an aside, I'm not convinced that any manufacturer has got DVD recording fully sussed - unless you know different that is
