I got my vodafone bill the other day - £75 with call charges amounting to less than £1. Texts cost £30 and line rental £21, the rest of it went on VAT.

In light of this I tried to upgrade my package and the best they could offer me was a K610i for free and everything else had a charge ranging from £15.

I find this quite disgusting considering I have been a Vodafone customer for 5 years now, having had £300 bills and them never having had any problems with settlement. How come new customers get better treatment than exsisting customers?

The reason for this could be that you are not nearly at the end of your contract, if you only have 2 months or less left to go we can offer you a great deal. However, if you are part way through there is not much that can be done....

My contract is due for renewal on September 20th and I spoke to an advisor on July 20th about it.

Hi DeltaUnit22,

I work for Vodafone and can offer you some informal advice.

If you're due for an upgrade, you can call 191 free from your mobile using options 4 then 3. The person you speak to will try and quote you the best deal possible.

You might find that you see more attractive deals offered by new service providers. This is often the case and is due to the fact that incentives are offered by all companies to try and get new customers on their networks. None the less, we’d like to be able to offer something suitable for you as a reward for remaining with us.

If you'd like me to look into this, please email us through www.vodafone.co.uk/contactus. Please type the code FIT135 in the main body of the email so it's routed to the most suitable person.

Alternatively, if you're still in commitment and not eligible for a phone upgrade, we could perform a price plan review to see if there’s something more suited to your needs.

I hope this is of value to you and I’m hoping to hear from you by email.

Apparently they've been doing it for ages - they could have told me! grrrrr!
