2 minor points I'd appreciate an answer to:
1) I get an increase in volume when I play off the HDD (compared to the live tuner or a DVD). Anybody else get this?
2) I don't seem to be able to use a data DVD to transfer audio MP3 tracks to the HDD. The manual is a bit vague about this. Anybody else succeed?

Um, what model are we talking about here?

Regarding reading DVD's : it's always been my experience Pioneers only read data CD's, not DVD's. I'd have hoped they'd have fixed this by now, but wouldn't count on it.

I've not noticed a change in volume when I play a DVD on my 440 but having said that I do tend to turn the telly all the way down and put my AV amp on when watching a DVD

I burnt a load of MP3s onto a DVD+RW (albums each in their own individual folder) and tried to copy them to the HDD but found it didn't work. It wouldn't work on a CDRW either. As far as I know the only way is to burn them in a totally flat structure (no folders). So you would basically have to load each album up individually. Which is a pain cos I downloaded The Cure discography (17 studio albums) and I'm gonnna have to trot up and down stairs 17 times now

The manual says it can only read MP3s off a CD, it says the same about DivX but I put two seasons of the Simpsons on a DVD-R and that worked (two folders with 22 episodes in each). So i'm gonna risk sacrificing a 35p DVD-R and see if it can read MP3s off it and out of folders
