Optical is what you need to look at I would ignore digital
here are some links that explain and show pictorially the difference nicely

Not many reviews online for this one.

cnet didn't seem to especially like it ....

Only one user review on newegg as well, also not great:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Custra...82E16830144054

Only two reviews but neither of them are that great. Just because it's 8mp (which is a lot at that price point), doesn't make it a great camera.

I'd have a look at 4-5mp offerings from the likes of Canon, Nikon or Sony in the same sort of price bracket.

This page may help ....

This is the best camera review site on the web:

www.dpreview.com

really detailed unbiassed reviews and comparisons.

Sorry, no mention of the model you're interested in, but I just think anyone who's into cameras should know about this site!!

If only there were sites this good for televisions, phones, hi-fi etc.

I'm a photographer....8MP is very large, are you sure you need this facility? As someone said, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a great camera. If you want large, huge blow up prints then you go for a higher MP rating. My camera has 6.1MP and I can have excellent A3 prints with that. I'd recommend seeing what you can get for the same amount in Nikon.

Steve's Digicams review website is excellent btw. Enjoy!

I won one of the Canon Digital Ixus 60s a couple of weeks ago and I've been very impressed. Good quality pictures, huge screen, fast startup and shot-to-shot time. Very pocketable.
