Sony Ericsson Software .......Help!!!
dexis
01-08-2006
I've just bought a Sony Ericsson W300i but can't install the PC software as it requires Windows 2000 or XP and I've only got Windows ME.

I've searched the internet and can't find anything that helps. I've tried the SE website and sent them an email hoping that they can direct me to some older software though haven't had a reply.......

....can anyone offer any advice please!

I suppose that's one solution...but was hoping for something a bit better than directing me to a £170 copy of Windows XP

Without being rude, the software says it required Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Thats what is need to run it.

The software was supplied with the phone and I wasn't given any warning of the system requirements.

I suppose what I was hoping for was that there was an older version of the software available that would work with Windows ME

Hi Dexis,

There is a website called Mobile Action which has the software for virtually all makes and models of handsets.

Visit http://global.mobileaction.com/ and select your phone from the drop down box.

However only the drivers are suitable for Windows ME.

You don't really need the software as you can use the computers "explorer" to perform your file transfers.

thanks midlands_lad, checked out the site and tried what they had on offer but still no luck. Tried another couple of pieces of software that reckoned they would do the file transfer using Windows ME with the W300i but haven't been able to do the simple thing of getting the PC to accept the drivers for the phone and what appears to be the memory card.
