Anyone bought a Black RAZR V3 from Tesco.com recently?

I ask because I recently bought one and it appears I've got one of the old models because it only stores 10 texts before you get the low memory warning. A friend of mine bought a blue one from them a week or so before me and his is fine.

I've been onto tesco.com and they say to return it and they'll send out a new one. Hopefully the new one will be a later model.

its not the phone thats faulty, all u need to do is go to the text message settings, and change the setting from "10" messages allowed, to maximum, or "100" if im right - its easy enough to find, but a bit annoying as they set the phone up by defualt to allow 10 sms to begin with

once uve set it up ull be fone - let us know if u need direct instructions

Had a look and there is no such option to change. I compared my phone to a friends (blue) V3 - his has 50+ texts on it and is showing about half full. His also shows a total memory of about 6.5mb whereas mine was showing 5.5mb. Rang Tesco customer service and they said there should be no difference between the phones. Their technical support confirmed this and said the problems I was having were experienced on very early RAZR models and were solved over 12 months ago. So, I sent it back. However, the replacement had exactly the same problems - it also does not say 'V3' on the box, only 'RAZR'. I am returning that phone and getting a refund.

I can only conclude that Tesco are selling off old stock as new - anyone thinking of buying a black V3 from them may wish to bear that in mind.

Just had a look on my mate's Black V3. Total memory = 5.5mb, she's got 38 texts in her inbox. Went into settings to check, and you go to messages, press the menu button, go to inbox setup, text message setup, and there is an option that says 'Save To: ' and if you have it set to 'Phone' you can store loads of texts. Have it set to 'SIM' and you can store 10 texts.

Don't recall seeing that option. While it solves one problem it leaves another - why did my mates phone show more memory than mine when they were both supposed to be the same?

Anyway, something's fishy here and the phone's gone back.

The other person who's phone you looked at must have deleted some of the content that comes with the phone - i.e. some standard ringtones, pictures and videos etc. If you delete these from the phone you will then have larger memory.

No, this was total memory, used+unused.
