Hi
Could anyone please help me with my query - i have just bought an ipod and have started dowloading songds from my own collection of cds and i-tunes but i am concerned about the memory this will use on my very basic laptop. Is it possible to download them on to my ipod then delete them from i-tunes but for them to remain on my ipod.
thanking you in advance for any help

yes but you'll have to go through the whole process again if ever break/lose/update your ipod

Yeah i think so. I once accidently deleted my itunes library, and i plugged in my ipod, and all the songs were still there, so you could try ripping a cd into your itunes, putting it onto your ipod, then getting rid of the songs from your library, plug in your ipod, and see if the songs are still on your ipod.

You can actually update your ipod without losing your tunes, its only the restore software option that deletes the tunes when updating.

Yes but you can't upgrade to a better iPod without losing the music on the old one.

Does the OP mean that keeping the music on the laptop will use up too much disk space? 'Cos the amount of music won't make any difference to the memory (ie RAM) used, will it?
