all is revealed !

thanks to revchips @adsl guide for this one:

visit the bt.com/bbv configure page and when the configure window open right click the config tab and select open in a new window and all the info sent to the hub inc passwords will be displayed in the web address bar (where you normally type in www.) its long so highlight and copy to word doc.

thanks off to see if i can config the linksys pap2 ata armed with the info.

Hi hypnotist

I found the settings the same way as your last post - from the data string which is sent to the Home Hub by bt.com/bbv - but no matter how I tweak them in the config page, I always get 'Can't connect to login server'. As you've noticed, the password is generated, and is different from the one supplied by bt. My PAP2 is configured correctly because I have a working connection to Orbtalk on the other line.

Have you had any luck yet? Is it possible that the account has to be activated by the Home Hub before it can be used? I haven't done that as I dont want to use it - my Belkin wireless adsl router works fine and I don't want to mess with it now I've got it set up nicely.

If you do get it working, please post - I want to use the free calls!

This probably is of no consequence, but just in case...

On my BT Hub it does NOT have 00 before the 44

Cheers

Hi saintalan

Thanks for your input. I've been trying without the leading '00' anyway as it's not part of the configuration datastring sent to the Home Hub. So still no joy - but thanks once again.
