Am looking at biting the bullet and getting a HTC TyTN Pocket PC Phone, just have one concern...

Ive seen on the net that you cant use MP3s as sms/mms etc... alert tones?! Now i THINK you can use .wav files but can you use wma??

If anyone could clear this up?!?

I have the T-Mob MDA II (HTC Charmer) running WM5. You are correct in saying that mp3 cannot be used for alert tones, but I haven't managed to find a way to use wav/wma either - if you have any suggestions they would be appreciated!

My unit is about 3-4 months old, and it wouldn't use mp3s as ringtones out of the box - I had to install a little prog (can't remember the details at the mo) to enable this. MS may have sorted this on the newer releases.

All in all though, I have found WM5 to be very good, although my missus hasn't settled into hers and has demanded that I get her a normal phone when one of our accounts is due for an upgrade in November!

I'm loving WM5 on my Vodafone branded Qtek 8300 (i think). Great phone, very stable and the battery lasts for years even with BT and wifi on.
