Well I'm not thick or naive, and I wondered what the OP was on about at first. My first thought was that any reference to what "gays" may or may not generally be might bring down the wrath upon us for generalising, a stance which as a woman driver I clearly have little sympathy with!
I had to read down a few posts before I realised what this was about - how bizarre!

Especially since I'm just watching the show on E4+1 and have just seen the sequence which was purely in the contexy of Kim & Aggie being there and a reference to Michael's messy reputation (who was also there and agreed wholeheartedly).

I think the problem is that you said he's anti-gay, when that is clearly not the case. A generalisation based on tired stereotypes perhaps, but it was not malicious in any way, akin to the blonde bimbo being a slag etc. Edit: which is FAR more malicious

The point being that women drivers get generalised about all the time - but I suppose you think that's different? I suppose you think that's okay? I suppose you think it's just you that people should be continually pussy-footing around?
Can you imagine just how many friends I'd have if I went off on one every time someone made a jibe about women drivers? Not many, but I don't because it's such blatant rubbish it isn't worth the aggro.
