Every time he said mate he sounded exactly like Mikey.

you pick up the accent of the person you learn the words from though, don't you? Ok, I know Glynn will have known the word, but he'll have heard it more from Mike in a half hour than in his previous 18 years...

I pick up accents really quickly. All my local taxi drivers in the North East think I'm from Liverpool, just because I used to live with a few scousers in my uni days!!

I mimic everyone I talk to very easily without even realising it. It was just an observation and I found it quite endearing.

I'm sorry, but the term endearing cannot possibly be applied to Glyn

Dover and Calais are less than 25 miles apart.........

Seriously though accents can change in very short distances where there have been historical difficulties such as mountains and rivers to overcome. Welsh can probably thank the mountains for its survival into the 21st century.

North Walians often have a hint of liverpudlian in their accent.

He will hate that when someone points it out to him.

While we're on the subject, I detected Imogen using Aisleyne's 'fake' laugh last night.

It's probably the other way around. The Scouse accent is a mix of North Wales, Lancashire and Irish accents

I can pick up someone's accent after five minutes. It's awful because people think I'm taking the pi$$ but I just can't help it.

Correct. All the worst parts of each accent too.
