A few months back i red somewhere that apple are going to release a new Ipod that had a touch screen. The article said that it would be released this summer. But so far I have heard nothing. I want to buy an Ipod but i dont want to buy one then a new and upto date one comes out.
So if anyone knows any details about a new Ipod please let me know.

Thanks

Personally I haven't heard anything about it, but anyway I don't think I would like a touch screen iPod, trying to watch a video with all grubby fingermarks all over it. Or would it use a stylus like the DS?

I'd imagine that that could be a good idea for something like a new video ipod where they replace all the front buttons with a big screen thus not making the thing any bigger.

Then you could use a stylus to select things on the touch screen.

Wouldnt suprise me if that was the next iteration of the ipod as i'd imagine video will be more of an integral part of it than the last one.

There's tons of rumours about iPod. This is one of them. But it was "100% confirmed for February" and it never came.

Something is coming, but whether its a touch screen or when it is nobody knows!

Rumours are often completely wrong, in 2004 everyone was expecting an aluminium iPod with video playback and bluetooth in it. All Apple released was the 4G iPod.

I also think Apple's plan is to ditch the stylus, with their screen technology that can tell when your hand gets near to make a virtual click wheel pop up.

Apple is rumoured to be launching a "dizzying" number of new products at next week's World Wide Developer Conference. Maybe the touch screen iPod is one of them.
