What do you mean by "it wont let me"? What does Media Player say?

I have some iTunes music but I have now replaced my iPod with a Zen Vision:M so am going to have to try and convert the music over, somehow...

Itunes uses AAC files, these are not recognized by Windows Media Player and is most probably why your Car is not playing them.

If you right click on the song in your ITunes library, it should give you the option to convert the tracks to WAV format.
WAV is the format mainly used to play CD's in non MP3 CD players.

Once it is converted to WAV them if you need to you can them convert it to a WMA file via Windows media player.

If you go to "edit" then the "advanced" tag on your Itunes preferences, then go to the "importing" tab you can change the preferences as to which format Itunes will burn your CD's into your ITunes library.
(ITunes will always default to ACC which is the equivilant to 128MP3 unless you change it)

The easiest way to convert a song from the iTunes Music Store is to burn it to a CD (use a CD-RW if you want to do lots of music) and to then rip it into Windows Media Player.

*Waits for audiophile to say that there will be a reduction in sound quality*

The problem is that Itunes is just dumping the protected ACC itunes files to the CD, these can only be played on a ipod or in itunes. You need to set itunes to convert them to normal CD format, it wont let you convert them streight to MP3 format (they say its to stop piracy, but its actually to stop you using a non-apple MP3 player with itunes).

Open iTunes, Press "Edit" at the top, then press "Preferences" > "Advanced" > "Burning", and change it to "Audio CD" ("MP3 CD" wont work because of the protection). Then burn the song again.

This should play fine in your car, if you want it in MP3 format, you could import the CD you just burned into windows media player, then burn it from there to MP3 format. Unfortunatly you will loose alot of quality using that method.

You could buy a ipod and get a ipod car kit, then you can just drag your entire music libary onto your ipod in itunes, then play it in your car without messing around with MP3 CDs. An expensive solution but you wont loose sound quality.

I don't have an iPod and have no desire to get one - too expensive, too many silly features (play videos on a 2-inch screen? Why???) - and my 2.5GB MP3 player is ideal for me. However it won't play the songs I get from iTunes. My solution: I burn them to a rewritable CD using iTunes, then rip them in as MP3s so I can play them on pretty much anything. If the sound quality suffers from the transition to MP3 then I've never noticed a difference.

That doesn't stop it being stealing. Just because you can get away with something doesn't make it ok.
