Evening Chris. I agree with you about Pleat...he's been on radio for as long as I can remember. Good at putting the tactical side of things across, he has a distinctive voice and a descriptive style which doesn't appeal to everyone...particularly on this forum you will have noticed!

I posted as 'MikeyAB' on there, but for the purposes of posting on the POV messageboard I've now changed my nickname so it's the same as this one....

They both have voices that are indistinguichable from others and unregonisable from anyone elses - they're not like other Five Live commentators in that you recognise their voices upon hearing it, even to someone who is a regular listener who listens out for commentators like me.
Having said that, neither of them are bad commentators, they have warm personalities and no their stuff. But whilst you would never get annoyed by them or want to switch them off, neither would either of them make a big impression on you or get you to want to stay switched on if it was a boring game as say John Murray or Ian Dennis would.”

Have to agree with that, I listened last night and it was perfectly competent but fairly uninspiring stuff (I actually prefer Woods given the choice between the two Daves). Lawrie Sanchez is not the most eloquent co-commentator either!

), but I don't think that David Hirst would have done that game on talkSPORT, as I don't think I've ever heard him on talkSPORT. I remember listening to the last Saturday show of 2007, and I'm pretty sure it would have been John Temple who did that game.
