Holland / Astra 1l

According to KingOfSat, Classic FM and Slam FM have ceased on Astra 1L, 19.2º East.

Slam FM was twice on 19.2º E , so the station should remain on satellite.

Classic FM is a great lost.

Classic FM was double illuminated at 19.2 too. Hopefully just one of them has gone.

Is it just me or is KingofSat really confusing to navigate?

Thanks for the info, it looks like both stations have ceased the double illumination.

Yes, Kingofsat is not as clear as Lyngsat, but it is more updated.

Radio Veronica 90s

Radio Veronica will be featuring their Top 590 of the 90s from Monday. Good variety of music in my opinion including some great Dutch acts such as Anouk, Golden Earring & Blof. Chart can be downloaded at

Leaving principal orbit slot.

Arrow Classic Rock and Arrow Jazz have left Astra 1, 19.2º East.

Some days ago both stations started at 23.5º East.

According to KingOfSat.

1008kHz (Flevoland, GrootNieuwsradio) seems weaker than ever. Used to be just listenable but it's down in the noise now.

I hope that I can still hear it at night here in Gateshead. As a Christian and one who likes music without constant adverts, I have had many happy hours listening to 1008kHz!!!

3FM is a brilliant radio station with great music and sounding, but unfortunately I don't understand a word DJ's saying.

Judging by your description, I don't see where's the need.

But more seriously, I can fully see your point. A similar curiosity made me want to learn English in de 60s when I was an avid listener of the British offshore stations.

Dutch radio stations will leave soon the 19.2º East orbital position to be possible only at 23.5º East orbital position.

It seems SES Astra wants to ubicate and consolidate the dutch satellite market ( the Benelux market) at 23.5º East.

That is a sad news.

You need first to have a dish pointed at 23.5º East and I think the sat receiver would be able to pick the signal, because the parametres of the frequency match with the frequencies that box manages normally.

But if you Sky box is connected to a dish pointed at 28.2º East, no way at all.

You also need a Sky box which has got old software on - the newer versions won't tune into Astra 19.2 (and presumably Astra 23.5) - I specifically have an old Sky box which will not get connected to the minidish so I can get RTL Deutschland!
