Question for 540 Owners.

Hi, I have a 530H at present and use the Guideplus system with an external cheapie Freeview box. It usually works well but I have two gripes.

1. Occasionally, the freeview box tries to go to channel 337 instead of 37 for example meaning some recordings don't happen.
This is probably not the Pioneers fault.
2. On the Guidplus EPG a good whack of the screen is taken up by adverts for Top Gear magazine etc. which means it only shows the current 1hr of programs.

Can someone describe the appearance of the new EPG on the 540H and compare it feature wise to the Guideplus system. Does anyone have a picture of the new EPG?

Cheers,

Sam.

I'm not sure how to attach a pic, which is a shame cos I just went to all the trouble of cropping a screenshot of Guideplus out of the manual

Anyway, like the 530H you only get an hour of programmes in vue due to adverts. But the freeview EPG is advert free and is full width

I suspect they nobbled it though, just to make you use GuidePlus. If you use the freeview EPG the sound goes off and there is no preview pane

Thanks, but I already know what guideplus looks like. I was wondering is the Freeview EPG any better. How many hours can you see on the screen before scrolling?

You get 90 minutes, and 8 channels. Wish there were that many on Humax 9200T...
