He has ADHD, OCD and tourettes not an easy outlook for a career in life is it? As far as I can see he did a lot for the band. I am sure when the money starts coming in he will make sure the band are ok. To be honest I am concerned about him, he is emotional and will be feeling awful at the moment. I hope this doesn't all backfire and make him descend into a depressive state. He is not responsible for the band, the leader is 37 years old and they have been going for a long time. If they were given the same chance without him they would have jumped at it.

I'm not so sure anymore
i must admit im seeing a different side to pete now, and i think ive just been in denial about this but i did see a difference in pete in the last week of bb too. his true colours did come out a little bit or maybe he was just changing.i dont know, no doubt tomorrow i'll be back into 'pete's so wicked and whoever hates him is a fool' mode i think im easily influenced considering im letting all these stupid articles about 'ditching' and 'dumping' get to mei guess what i think is that hes a much stronger and opinionated person than i might have thought he was. at first he seemed like the kind of guy you just wanted to look after but now it seems that he's .. a man. he went in a boy and came out a man. forget glyn ![]() I have officialy lost the plot. I'm rambling on about complete nonsense, lmao Last edited by bbpetefan. : 11-09-2006 at 21:48. |

I have to agree Kie-Kie.
Pete has no choice really but to make the most of the oppotunities that come his way....but I dont for one minute think this has been easy for him...which is probably why it took him so long to make up his mind..bless him..he must be torn in two.

D'yknow I actually like Pete more than I did, rather than less lately (I never voted for him during the show, and I kind of blew hot and cold about him and Nikki).
If he's becoming a bit more decisive that's no bad thing in my opinion. I get the feeling he was a bit unsure of his own identity, and that he was almost 'writing his life' for the cameras (not a deceptive way). Through making some decisions about direction and working on his autobiography he may find some peace and self-belief, or that's what I hope any way.

I confess I have not read all the stuff about Pete leaving/not leaving Daddy Fantastic and all that it might entail, but I think it's important to bear in mind that, realistically, someone with severe TS would be regarded as virtually unemployable in any 'regular' line of work. For someone like Pete, there are just not the same work opportunities available as there are for most people. Work of a creative nature and, even then, only within certain limits, is probably Pete's best hope of a career of any kind, so, if he is offered, on the back of winning Big Brother, the opportunity to do something exciting that really appeals to him, it would be very hard for him to turn it down, much more so than it would be for most BB HMs. For that reason, I don't feel inclined to judge him harshly for accepting what must seem like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, even if it meant leaving his band. In the music world, that kind of thing happens all the time anyway. It's hard for those left behind, of course, but I'm pretty sure any one of them would have done the same in the same circumstances.

His separation from daddy 'not so' fantastic is
another step in his rehabilitation, and it runs consistent with his desire to save himself. Who knows what went with the band. It might have been the epicenter of his drug culture. It might have promoted and encouraged his particular madness and was very nearly the undoing of him. At least Wobbly Bob can sit on his mountain of rubbish and declare it, his kingdom now |

Oi mcvillian..........................I did not say this! Quote:
It's fine if you do a documentary to raise awareness, but do not think of doing a national TV competition because it would be so wrong. All your dreams of becoming rich and famous or whatever must die because, you know, you are disabled. So how come you made out in your post (#2501 ) that I have said that?
You can only have a career in community work or the voluntary sector, raising awareness and reminding everyone that you're a sufferer, struggling against discrimination, prejudices and all that crap. Go forth, my friends, and show them how we have suffered. |

You can pre-order Pete's book on Play.com and also Amazon, it is slightly dearer on Play.com. but with postage added into the cost already, it probably acually works out slightly cheaper and they are also very good at posting stuff out pretty quick

Morning all
I'm just quickly catching up before I go off on the school run I agree with everything that has been posted here, especially the comments by Lulu, Sidney and indecisive-one. Pete visibly changed in the BB house and found his confidence again..he is now in a position he could only ever have dreamed of before. I admire him greatly for never giving up on his dreams, no matter what the obsticles..it takes courage..a lot more that I have, I gave upon mine. Susann, thanks for those links, I am going to pre-order my copy I think...I dont want to get left without one And Micky1, our house perminantly looks like it belongs on the life of grime...

Hi everyone...
I just thought I'd pop in! My house is a total tip also!! Think Pete is allowed to consider the options open to him, that are best for him and those he loves and supports - good for him. DF have done well enough from Pete's high profile...now he needs to take control of his own life. I agree, his confidence has grown and I wish him well. |

There's a little text message from a woman- with tiny photo - in one of the letter pages of the dailies today taking a real swipe at Pete and Nikki. It states that their appearance on JR has made her, and I quote "fear for the future of the human race". Sweeping statement or what! I was pleased though that a columnist in the same paper didn't mention either of them when he was commenting on his disappointment with one of the other guests on the show. Also just wanted to say no - one should ever give up on their dreams - one day... however far in the future...they may come true. Mine have after waiting twenty odd years!!!! |

I believe life has a way of working out....and usually for the best.. As for the text message in the paper..I hardly think Pete and Nikki are going to bring about the distruction of humanity ..the very idea is hilerious Some people need to get things into perspective I think BTW, there is an interview with the said couple in OK this week...with lovely pictures too ...might be worth taking a look....if you think humanity can survive it LOL
