I thought Ian Drury was well brilliant. I'm sure he would have been very proud of Pete and the fact that he coped and survived the BB experience.

P.S. For any non-Pete fans reading this just remember this young lad has Tourettes with ADHD and OCD. Read up about it you may learn something.

P.P.S.Oh and and I nearly forgot he won.

Funnily enough I thought of Pete as I watched it too!!
At least no one accused Ian Dury of faking his polio!!
I find it amazing that Pete made it through 13 weeks of BB ...he must have been physically and mentally exhausted , and all the hype since then must have taken it out of him. The sleep deprivation for a touretter must have been terrible to deal with and I noticed in that OK interview Nikki commenting on his sleeping a lot ,which is normal given the amount of physical and mental energy tourettes takes up. If he's been agonising over DF and coping with the media hype due to Pikki as well then maybe he's just cooled it all off with Nikki for his own health reasons , selfish but it's called survival. I'm not convinced they are 'over' rather than 'cooling it off'...and since he didn't comment on the band split , I doubt he will comment on the Nikki split. I think he's just in his own bubble creating music , which is all he's ever wanted to do , and whether or not it's a commercial success probably doesn't bother him that much anyway.

Brilliant post. Thank you. I am a bit tired to night so if you don't mind I will reply with my take on it tomorrow. Tonight it is just a couple of lines.

Hi Wanda

Its odd that you should mention about Pete's health, I've been saying on another site that I think Pete looks a little thin and drawn in some of his post BB photos

I think people underestimate exactly how much his health issues take out of him, both mentally and physically..

This Ian Dury thing is very strange though isnt it?...there must be something in it

Hi guys,

i see no-one on the few 'I told you what a scumbag Pete was' threads have even come close to putting this forward as a valid reason why (if he he has) *he broke it off with Nikki:

He haas had time to view footage of her vitriolic and sheer nastiness whilst in the house and just did not like what he saw.

*Depending on the scuzzy redtops for the initial 'story'.

I am not slagging nikki off here but i get the impression that she dosnt really think about petes health . Only today I was watching a video of the live feed and it was the first day of the majorrettes task. If you remember pete had a really bad sleepless night that day and nikki asked him why he couldnt sleep. He replied that he was twitching too much. Nikkis response. I think I will go and get something from the diary room for my cough. If I dont it will keep me up all night.

Hi rubberband,

I guess that it must come as a shock to some of the HM's to see how their fellow HM's have behaved in the house, unbeknown to them..

It certainly must put a different light on how they view that person.

Micky1, I have a chronic health condition..and from my experience, I'd say Nikki's reaction to Pete's health is about average

Hi everyone,

Great to be amongst you wonderful Pete fans once more!!!Just want to say that I couldn't agree more with what you have to say rosemary.

Also re Ian Dury, I wished I'd seen the programme he was in. I always thought he was great. My daughter and I were looking at some photos of him when he was young, on google and he looked really similar to Pete in some of them. Same sort of size and build and also wore a variety of hats, scarves, ties, colourful trousers etc. He, like Pete, also had an amazing personality of course!

By the way I've now ordered Pete's book and I'm still very much looking forward to reading it!

LOL bbpetefan....at least you're honest about it

itsy bitsy...I'm looking forward to reading Pete's book too....

I do feel for Pete and Nikki, of course..but I am finding something quite amusing about the fact that BB's first disabled HM is being portrayed and romeo/hearthrob/heartbreaker ..it certainly puts paid to the image most people have of disabled people ..who'd have thought it eh?

Well..I'm off to be now..night night fellow Petey fans...I know he's single now...but no stalking please..at least not until he's had time to get his breath back

Really sorry to read your last remark, rosemary. I often thought that some HM's tended to forget or overlook Pete's condition and often moaned that he was no fun and a misery when he was probably totally exhausted, poor boy!

I'm fine really...thanks....I'm just in a moaning mood at the minute...lol

Yes..it upset me when people said Pete was a misery or no fun, because there is nothing worse than wanting to do things and not feeling able to ..he must have been so frustrated with himself...knowing this was his time to shine and not being able to do so..I could almost see the anger and frustration in him at times..

But he kept going and never gave up..I dont care what anybody says..that lad has a lot of courage..

and now I really am going to bed...lol

Night all xxx

Ian Dury and the blockheads were musical genius. Please don't compare that little BB wanabee Pete with Ian Dury.

Pete has a speech impediment,Ian Dury had polio.Shame on anyone trying to compare the two.

I can also promise you that Ian Dury would never lower himself to selling his phony love story to the magazines.Ian Dury was a modern hero.

Pete Bennet is a modern phony.

Shame on his fans who voted him BB winner.

Pete doesn't have a speech impediment. He has tourettes syndrome ...it's a neurological disorder , he has full blown TS with major motor and vocal tics...some TS'ers don't have vocal tics , so obviously it's not a speech impediment. He doesn't stutter ffs!
And I feel no shame in voting him a worthy winner of BB. He showed he had huge musical potential and talent as well as artistic talent , there is nothing phony about him. And I think he and Ian Dury would have hit ot off if they had ever met. And I am a huge fan of his for many many years.
