Ian Drury was one of the greats I believe he and Pete would have got along famously also

Shame on you for mentioning Ian Dury and the bloke who won BB in the same sentence.

Ian Dury was a musical genius with polio.Pete Bennet is a musical nobody with tourettes.


Please do not compare Ian's polio with Pete's tourettes.

Though undoubtedly some of you will.

I don't feel shame at all mentioning Ian Drury and Pete in the same sentence and neither should I, and I also don't share your sentiments. I have not compared Ian Drury and Pete in my post, but if I do so feel like doing then I will do so, without relying on your say so.

Why are you posting such negative Pete posts in a 'Pete appreciation thread' anyway? Are there not enough Pete threads out there for you to post in other than this 'Appreciation' one? Meant for Pete appreciation posts

I'm afraid this is pretty much the standard,
Wild comments about Pete based on a rose tinted image of what they would like Pete to be.

I just want to point out that appreciation and making things up about Pete are different things.

'Pete is great' is appreciation
'Pete is on a par with Ian Drury' is making things up.

Micra, this is a Pete appreciation thread, not a 'you know Pete fans minds better than them' thread, so feel you can come into such a thread and say as much.

Why say what you think we would like Pete to be. I for one don't expect Pete to be anything for me. I liked him in BB7, he was and still is my favourite and I am glad he won. What Pete decides to do now and whatever direction he decides to take is nothing to do with me or other Pete fans. So it is not the Pete fans wearing those Rose tinted glasses you love to quote about so much.

No, you can twist this anyway you choose. An appreciation thread is just that, an appreciation of someone. Not making negative Pete posts as you and a few others choose to do

Pete on a par with Ian Drury is not making things up, that is just your negative opinion of Pete, not shared by many others on this thread at all.

I just copied Susann, but I don't what I am on about. , what I do know is there is NO comparison.

You have no right to tell me what I do or don't have the faintest clue about. You have your opinions and I have mine. I am entitled to mine without you telling me I am not in so many words. Your posts are becoming quite rude towards Pete fans and Pete on his appreciation thread.

I think you will find it doesn't. This is a 'Pete appreciation' thread. That doesn't mean we have to appreciate all the other ex bber's in it or most else for that matter. Gambit was making an assumption, something many of us do on threads, that is the nature of many posts, assumptions. She wasn't calling other fans names as some seem to have resorted to.

Are you going to reply to me on my question to you? As to where I am supposed to have compared Ian Dury and Pete? Don't worry if you can't and you realise you made a mistake there, I understand

Just for the record..for anybody who thinks I am being disrespectful to Ian Dury...I can tell you this..

Ian Dury is one of my greatest heros..I am huge fan and I have all his records on vinyl, CD and my MP3 player..

Ian Dury was a fantastic man, who broke the mould of what was expected from disabled people..and didnt allow his polio to stop him becomeing the person he wanted to be.

Pete has always reminded me of Ian ..and I have said so on this board since very early on in BB...its a physical and charasmatic thing....they both give off the same kind of vibe..for want of better language..

And as for being disrepectful to Ian..I doubt very much that Ian would care..he wasn't the most conventional of people

I really don't like to say this and am not having a go at Pete's mum, she did a good job bringing Pete up But if what she is supposed to have said there holds any truth, it wouldn't surprise me.

On a side note, why is the article about Pete, but there is a picture of Makosi and Derek BB6 up?
