I think Pete must be popular really if the mags and papers are writing about him all the time.

And plus i think the papers call people more when they think there too popular because they don't like people getting to big.

I think the majority of people still like him, i mean if some people go off him so qickly then they couldn't of been much of a fan in the first place, so they were obviouly just waiting for the first oportunity they could find to start calling him.

I don't think he's a bad person at all, it's just that he was so brilliant in the house that every little fault he (which i don't think he's done any yet) does seems so big because of the way he is.

Anyone else did what he did and no one would even notice, like the beer thing in the bb house.

Thats what happens when your such a good person, the littlist thing makes you look bad.

I don't think he's done anything wrong whatsoever since leaving the house, and he's certaintly not done anything to make people think he's a fake, whenever you read interviews he's done or read his posts on perfectpete website he always seems exactly the same as he did on bb.

Plus he can't be that bad of a person if the only things people can call him about is his Nikki and Daddy Fantastic splits, i mean what else do they ever really call him about apart from that?

I'm gonna stop writing now cus i think this is gonna be about about 5 pages long, lol

I've talked to quite a few people who aren't really into BB and most of then still like him and never liked Nikki so out in the real world away from DS all is good!

I think a lot of people on ds are only happy when they are hating someone and at the moment, it's pete, in a few weeks it will probably be another hm. I think it says a lot for people themselves when they say they hate someone from a reallity show who they,ve never even met.

Also, pete is getting a lot of publicity, be it good or bad, keeping him in the public eye, how many of the other hm are doing that.

I,ve spoken to a lot of people, wanda, aswell and they all still like pete and never thought that him and nikki were suitable anyway and were surprised he stopped with her that long.

Really looking forward to his book and record when they come out.

I agree. People I've spoken to, who are not big BB fans are amazed when I tell them there is a 'backlash' on DS. They too can't fathom what he's done wrong! Still generally liked outside of DS methinks.
The magazines printing his story, her story, their story etc. will spin the headline any way they see fit in order to increase sales. They will perpetrate drama and mis-quote or quote out of context for the same reasons. The longer they can keep this going the more mags/papers they sell.
Pete's done nothing wrong, he's not a media savvy veteran, he's a young guy being advised by others what to say/do. Posts and comments on DS are often pulled apart, ridiculed, analysed, mis-interpretted - that's what happens when you speak from the heart, tell the truth, give your honest opinion. If people in the public eye did this they would be slaughtered - unless they were flavour of the month, in which case the press would build them up, awaiting the moment that they can pull them down again. It sells papers/mags.
I think Pete will be fine once all the initial interest has waned a little. He'll be able to focus on his budding music career.

Agree entirely. Some newspapers seem to focus on certain celebs more than others and seem happy, as you say, to continually build them up and then knock them down again.

I too believe that DS is a very insular place. My eldest daughter and her friend are both BB fans and go on their computers loads, but they'd never heard of this site till I told them and have no inclination to go on the forums. In their eyes the show is over so they can't see the point and I reckon there are loads of other fans who feel the same.
They still support and are interested in the HMs they liked in it though, especially Pete, Ais and Glyn.

My daughter was amazed when I told her about Pete's website - she couldn't believe that he actually visits the site himself. Think she wishes some of the other celebs she likes would do that. What a man, eh

Yes, it is only some forums that hold the Pete is not loved view and are not happy unless dissing him. If some join many forums, it looks ten times worse than it really is. Look at when Pete won. If we believed half the threads on here, then Pete would have been voted out 6th place and Aislyene voted queen. It was never going to happen. It got way hyped up, same as all the lastest news items are I know it's hard but I just say ignore a lot of it if you can
