Hi everyone,

Yeah, I want to know if you bought anything nice too, rosemary. Give us a twirl. Saying that just made me think of the HMs strutting their stuff on the catwalk especially a certain Mr Pete Bennett

Which reminds me - I'm sure I read or heard somewhere a few weeks ago that Pete had been offered modelling jobs but turned them down. Has anyone else heard anything about that?

I heard that . It was when first got out of the house that the rumor started I think. Shame its not going to happen, I might have had to start going to fashion shows .

I guess petes too busy with his music

Good morning everyone!
Was just looking at some of the other threads about Pete. I think the main reason why there is so much debate about him is because he is a complex character. He's not simply eye candy, or mouthy, or bitchy - things that really define other hms. He has a lot more complex emotions, and is difficult to unravel. I think some people do not like that he is not some cardboard, one dimentional being. They feel a need to see ulterior motives in all he does or says.
We know that he has been entertaining, we know that he has deep feelings about issues - but can't always find a way to express his disapproval/approval. We know he has had traumas and struggles that he has had to overcome. Given his life circumstances and his tourettes, he has had a lot to overcome. I see no malice in Pete at all. What I see is a caring individual who knows what it's like to take a few knocks and is therefore understanding of other peoples feelings - he does not wish to hurt those around him as he knows what it's like to be on the recieving end.
The debates will continue - he is a complex person, with a bundle of insecurities that make him a sympathetic character. He has empathy - some see this as a weakness, I view it as a strength.
There's nowhere near as much dissection of other hms personalties, because they are for the most part one dimentional
Have a great day Pete fans!!

Good luck with any future shopping trips, rosemary - I find buying new clothes always perks me up

Guess you're right about the possible modelling deals, micky1. Also probably not his scene.

Saw something in one of The Sunday Times mags yesterday which I thought was great.

A female columnist writing about celebrity culture reckoned that what fascinates the general public more than anything else is relationship news, whether good or bad.

And guess who got mentioned first yep, Pete and the will- he won't-he, get- together with Nikki saga whilst in the BB house.

It was only a small mention but it was ahead of references to Macca, Sienna and Jude, Brad and Angelina and Kate Moss and Pete Docherty. IMO it shows they're still very much in the forefront of people's thoughts. She obviously also expected her readers to know who they were.

She reckons that it's because relationships are something that we share in common with the 'rich and famous' that we get so involved, one reason being that we compare our circumstances with theirs. Think that's happened quite a bit with some of the threads on DS

Have a good day, everyone - back later

Hi everyone and welcome calmwaters, good to see another pete fan here.

Brilliant post again trinsk,

I think pete is such an enigma and mystery and such a loving and complex character that people do tend to misunderstand him, they are used to one dimensional characters on bb and pete is definitely not that.

Roll on the book signings, hope to meet petey in birmingham.
